Design work for Phase I & II of the project, which will connect Kelly Road Park and the Apex Nature Park, should be complete by Summer 2018. Phase II design work will include working with NCDOT on the connection under the new Apex Barbecue Road bridge and also provide the connection to the Apex Nature Park. Grant funding was received from Wake County to assist with Phase II design.
Phase I (from the southern property line of Miramonte down to Holly Springs) and Phase II (from the southern property line of Miramonte northward to the northernmost property line of Pemberley) are currently being designed. The Town has received a $140,000 grant from Wake County to aid with the planning and design.
Staff has finalized its review of a proposal for development of the construction documents and construction administration for Pleasant Park, and hopes to bring a formal contract recommendation to the Town Council in August.
