Robyn Scott: Living with invisible illness, life develops two elements, one internal and one external. The interaction with a community that can’t see the reality of a day-to-day illness creates a fork in the road at the onset of such a life change, sending an individual off in two separate but parallel paths, tied to both perception and reality. Navigating a community full of people who don’t understand experiences outside of their comfort zone is tricky, adding to the upside down nature of feeling old during youth and feeling sick while looking healthy. It is this duality that is explored in my work. Up always has a down and cold always has warmth in comparison.
